Surprisingly, for a field of work that requires being surrounded by people, cameras, and the spotlight for hours on end, many Korean celebrities are actually introverts. However, none are more introverted than these eight stars:
1. Um Tae Goo: Despite flawlessly executing his roles in films and dramas, Um Tae Goo is highly known among his co-workers for being timid and shy. How shy, you ask? He even has trouble maintaining eye contact for long periods. You can see him full of jitters during his special guest appearance on “House on Wheels.”
2. RIIZE Wonbin: Of course, you can’t have a list of introverts without including members of RIIZE. With 80% of the band being introverts, Wonbin has stated multiple times that he is quite timid upon first meeting and that it takes him a while to open up.
3. RIIZE Anton: Despite being the son of a well-respected musician in the Korean music scene and exuding confidence on stage, Anton is quite different in reality. With a soft, gentle voice, he is one of the more shy members of RIIZE. Even when the band appeared on Hong Suk Chun’s “Jewelry Box,” Anton, Wonbin, and Sohee were designated as the more introverted members.
4. Jessi: When it comes to Jessi, you have to expect the unexpected. While many people think Jessi is an extrovert due to her blunt personality, even the star herself admits she’s quiet and just likes to stay at home, which gives off introvert vibes.
5. BTS Jungkook: Even his bandmates have shared that Jungkook had such a hard time opening up when they first met. He was so shy that he couldn’t even change his clothes with the other members around.
6. Girls’ Generation Taeyeon: When your best friend gets worried about you never coming out of the house, that's how you know just how introverted and homebound you are. SHINee’s Key, one of her closest companions, was shocked at just how introverted Taeyeon is and was concerned about how she spends all day just at home.
7. 2NE1 Dara: You can tell Dara is more on the shy side, especially when she’s put on the spot without a heads-up. In various variety programs she appeared on, you can see she fidgets around and isn’t really her goofy self at first.
8. Ahn Hyo Seop: His recent appearance on “Salon Drip 2” says it all. You can see just how nervous he is, and throughout the video, he’s nervously fidgeting with a coffee bottle, his hair, and even the rip in his jeans.
Despite their shyness at first, once these stars are comfortable with you, they become some of the funniest, goofiest people around, making them even more charming!
