Kim Garam, who departed from LE SSERAFIM amidst a school violence controversy, is set to make an official appearance at her graduation ceremony. Scheduled for the March 7 KST, this event marks her return to the public eye, approximately 1 year and 7 months after leaving LE SSERAFIM in 2022.

The controversy surrounding Kim Garam emerged in April 2022 when allegations of school bullying during her middle school years surfaced. Reports detailed inappropriate behavior and acts of school bullying, along with the release of photos containing profanity, sexual expressions, and derogatory remarks towards individuals with disabilities.

At the time, HYBE, her former agency, defended Kim Garam by asserting that she was being maliciously slandered. They claimed that the reported incidents occurred during her early days in middle school when she was making friends, and stated that Kim Garam had been a victim of cyberbullying. HYBE also took legal action against the person responsible for exposing the allegations.

Kim Garam made her debut with LE SSERAFIM amid these controversies, and during her debut showcase, she pledged to work harder as a member of the group. However, public opinion soured when the school bullying committee's report revealed that Kim Garam had been named as the fifth offender. This led to the suspension of her activities by HYBE, and three months later, in July 2022, Kim Garam terminated her exclusive contract with the agency and left LE SSERAFIM. Subsequently, through an acquaintance's account, Kim Garam refuted the allegations, claiming she had never engaged in violence, bullying, or other wrongdoing. She emphasized that she had been a normal student before her debut and expressed frustration over the situation.

As Kim Garam prepares to attend the graduation ceremony, there is considerable interest in what she will say or reveal at the official event. Following her departure from the entertainment industry, Kim Garam plans to enroll in the Department of Media Acting at Konkuk University's College of Art and Design.
