On February 24 KST, a judge of the Criminal Division 1 of the Uijeongbu District Court Namyangju Branch sentenced a woman 'A' (36) to 10 months in prison for coercion, assault, trespassing, and defamation.
'A' was brought to trial on charges of threatening her ex-boyfriend, 'B' (34), a celebrity and YouTuber, in his home in August of 2022. At the time, 'A' and 'B' had been dating for about 10 days, but 'B' expressed his wishes to break the relationship off. In response, 'A' told 'B', "I can't just let you break up with me like this. You said you were afraid of negative comments, right? What do you think is gonna happen if you do this now?"
'A' then proceeded to demand that 'B' pay her 5 million won (~ $3,800 USD). However, 'B' only had 2.4 million won in his bank account at the time. 'A' then claimed, "I need 5 million won but since I'm only getting 2.4 million won, I'll slap your face 10 times for the rest of the payment." The woman did in fact slap 'B' in the face 10 times.
On the same day, after leaving 'B's house, 'A' attempted to break in again six times. Failing to do so, 'A' continued to harass and threaten 'B' over text messages and on SNS, sending him messages that read, "I'm going to publicly reveal how I'm receiving treatment for depression because of you. And how you played with me." On 'B's YouTube channel, 'A' commented, "I got herpes because of you. Do you think you can get away with it by hiding?", making false accusations.
Taking into consideration 'A's "unreasonable demands for money and violent actions", as well as the "severe mental damages inflicted on 'B'", the court chose to sentence 'A' to time in prison.
On the "Hot/Crazy Matrix" he probably thought she was in the "Date Zone", but quickly realized she was in the "Danger Zone". Only took him 10 days to realize the situation and bale out, but he needed a better exit strategy.
