Actor Joo Ji Hoon is set to collaborate with the production company behind the movie '12.12: The Day' for their debut OTT series titled 'Climax' (working title). On December 19 KST it was reported that Joo Ji Hoon has recently received and positively reviewed an offer to join the series, leading to his decision to take on the role.
Hive Media Corp., the production company known for '12.12: The Day,' which achieved outstanding box office success starring Hwang Jung Min and Jung Woo Sung, will venture into the OTT market with 'Climax.' The company, established in 2014, has delivered well-crafted films like 'Inside Men' (2015), 'The Last Princess' (2016), 'Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum' (2018), 'The Drug King' (2018), 'Deliver Us from Evil' (2020), and 'The Man Standing Next' (2020). '12.12: The Day' exceeded 9 million viewers in just 27 days and is on track to become the company's first film to surpass 10 million viewers.
The casting process has begun, with Joo Ji Hoon taking on the lead role. 'Climax' marks Hive Media Corp's inaugural OTT series, alongside the upcoming drama 'The Good Man,' featuring Lee Dong Wook, and another project known to be in the works.
In addition to 'Climax,' Joo Ji Hoon is actively engaged in various projects, including the film 'Project Silence,' upcoming series 'Shop of the Lamp,' and a Netflix original series titled 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call'.
'Climax' is scheduled for a summer release in the latter half of the year.
