The news, delivered on the October 24 KST by the musician's agency, states that the singer will commence his active-duty soldier stint in the Army on November 20 KST. In serving his national defense duties, he will be joining the esteemed Army Band.

The announcement concerning Changjo’s enlistment came straight from the heart, as the star decided to break the news to his followers via his social media network. In his message, he assured his fans of his commitment to return in a healthier and braver state. Pledging to be responsible, he said "I will become a Choi Jong Hyun who will perform my duties well, return well, and repay the love given to me.” He also hinted at a positive reunion in the year 2025, as he expressed, “Let’s meet each other healthy and smiling in May 2025."
