Lee Jun Ki confessed that he quit eating rice and flour. Instead, he shared that he eats tofu.
On August 30, Lee Jun Ki appeared as a special guest on the tvN variety talk show 'You Quiz on The Block.'
After the success of the film 'The King and the Clown,' Lee Jun Ki made continuous efforts to break away from the image of Gonggil. In his efforts, he challenged himself by taking on different genres.
Therefore, Lee Jun Ki chose 'The Time Between Dog and Wolf' as his first drama project. Lee Jun Ki stated that he showcased his determination by performing stunt acting without a stunt double and said, "I wanted to be properly evaluated as an actor at least."
In addition, Lee Jun Ki surprised everyone by revealing that he hadn't been eating carbohydrates for seven years for his action acting. He explained, "It's my own know-how that I developed while doing a lot of action acting. I suffered for the first 1 to 2 years, but as I continued, I found it very good and my body felt lighter." Lee Jun Ki shared that he currently avoids rice and flour and instead consumes tofu as his main source of food.
Meanwhile, 'You Quiz on the Block' is a popular talk show led by Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho. It airs every Wednesday at 8:45 PM KST.
Lee Jun Ki's daily diet of "no rice, no flour, only tofu" for the past 7 years has made him skinny and looks unhealthy, compared to his debut days. Afaik, tofu contains white limestone powder as a coagulant, eg hard tofu has more limestone powder compared to soft tofu = LJK is more prone to developing obstructive kidney/gall-bladder stone. Similarly for the many artificial chemicals found in fizzy soft drinks or soda.
... Soft Japanese egg tofu is OK bc egg is the coagulant.
In any diet, moderation is the key to good health, eg do not eat too much rice and flour (carbohydrates) than needed by our body for energy. Otherwise, obesity and/or diabetes mellitus may develop after some years.
