Los Angeles-based The Legacy Lab has announced the results of its new study, "The Legacy Makers 100," which recognizes brands that make an enduring contribution to people and society.
"The Legacy Makers 100" list ranks 100 of the world's most impactful brands that have succeeded in creating long-term brand building in today's short-term business culture.
The list was created using The Legacy Makers Index (LMI), a first-of-its-kind quantitative tool that captures consumer perceptions about a brand's contributions to making better products and services and creating a better world.
K-pop mega group BTS debuted at #82 on the "The Legacy Makers 100" list, the only singer labeled as a brand. BTS ranked higher than popular brands like Disney, Walmart, Toyota, Netflix, and Nike.
Meanwhile, CELINE debuted at #37 as the highest-ranking luxury clothing brand on the list.
While the list included several affordable fashion brands, such as bag brand Telfar, only a few luxury clothing brands made the cut, including Bottega Veneta and Hermès.
Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, has proven his strong influence as a fashion icon since he began officially working with CELINE this year.
Taehyung has helped CELINE achieve a new peak in growth and visibility through his brand ambassador activities, which include his ELLE Korea cover photoshoot, his appearances at the Seoul pop-up store and the Cannes dinner, and his numerous social media posts.
Brand Finance, a leading brand valuation and strategy consulting firm in the UK, released their annual report of the Top 50 Most Valuable Luxury & Premium Brands, which shows CELINE's growth in 2023. The brand jumped up six spots to rank at #23.
Although CELINE has been working with other K-pop ambassadors for more than two years, this is the first time they have entered Brand Finance's Top 25 list.
Brand Finance also analyzed brand value changes from 2022 to 2023. They revealed that CELINE was ranked second, following Lamborghini, with a growth rate of 51% in the past year.
Taehyung has demonstrated his massive influence on brands for years, which has led to the "V-effect." This is when brands that he is seen wearing experience a massive boost in sales leading to products getting sold out.
Of course, Taehyung's impact.
