Red Velvet's Yeri transformed her image in the new drama 'BITCH X RICH,' playing the role of Baek Je Na.

Yeri recently sat down with Cosmopolitan magazine for an interview and pictorial to discuss her role and career.

The idol talked about her transformation through the new drama and shared, "I wanted to broaden my range of acting, so I took on the challenge. People were very surprised because it was a character I had never played before. I especially concentrated on my tone of speech, talking speed, and the rhythm of talking when acting. I felt she (Baek Je Na) had to be seen like she was raised as a princess rather than just a delinquent girl. I wanted her to look like an authoritative figure who speaks slowly and rules over people. She's the complete opposite of me so I was worried about how I would embody that figure."

Yeri also talked about herself and explained, "I think I am a very clean-cut person when it comes to things I don't like and things I like. My standard doesn't change but there is one thing that changed and it's that I started liking dogs! I was scared of dogs when I was younger."

When asked, "Is there any prejudice the public has towards 'Yeri'?" she replied, "Oh, there is. There absolutely is. I have a job where people say 'Why arched eyebrows? Your eyebrows look better straight' if I change the shape of my eyebrows even the slightest bit. A long time ago, I used to care. It was because I didn't know about myself and had no backbone. When I would hear things like that, I would think 'Do I need to change my eyebrow shape to be straight?' but that's living a life for someone else. I debuted at a young age so I didn't really know but as I grew older I thought I should live a life for myself while doing the things I want to. So these days, I don't care about the criticism from the people who don't know me."
