After the unexpected (but totally deserved) popularity, TNX took us back to the early 2000s in their latest release, "Kick It 4 Now." It has been a new favorite for artists to bring us Y2K concepts in their music, but TNX truly took it to the next level with not only their album, song, and music video concepts, but their music show broadcasts were also similar to how it was back in the early 2000s.
With this, we thought it would be great to keep the nostalgia going by checking out other songs that are also Y2K-themed!
BoyNextDoor - One and Only
When you're a group under Zico's company, it would not be a surprise if your music sounds a lot like Zico's or Block B's, and they always give off the most fun, poppy, Y2K sounds! Even the music video looks like it was from an early 2000s American Sitcom show!
P1Harmony - JUMP
Another Block B -sounding song has to be this one. As soon as it plays, the music will remind you of the song "HER," the fun, jumping, and a hint of whimsical song that was released eight years ago.
Enhypen - Blessed Cursed
If you've never seen the music video, you would be very confused why this song made it to the list. The music video concept plays a lot with the Y2K theme, with their outfit, settings, and the camera settings/filters they used. You could probably replace the song with a Backstreet Boys song, and no one would know.
NCT U - 90's Love
The title alone exudes an unmistakable aura of "nostalgic allure," a sentiment we're absolutely enamored with! True to form, the group proves once again that they can ace any musical genre or conceptual challenge, delivering the song and its accompanying theme with exceptional finesse and panache.
VERIVERY - Tap Tap
This is an enjoyable one! Their entire music video certainly has that Y2K vibes with not only the most obvious reference to the popular American sitcom, "FRIENDS," but also a few others that you'd recognize! The song is also a fun mixture of Y2K-sounding, with the 'change up' concept of the more modern pop.
Younite - Everybody
'Everybody' definitely needs to start streaming this bop. It has a very chilled Y2K sound; it's definitely a smooth listen. The music video is also nothing too overwhelming.
Seventeen - Dust
There is no genre that this group cannot do, and they have proven once again. This song sounds like an OST of a youth drama, like the Reply series. It's a fresh song with a tinge of melancholy and nostalgia.
NCT 127 - 1, 2, 7 (Time Stops)
Just listening to this does not only stop time, but it will take you back in time before doing so. If you are too young to have experienced listening to songs like these on the daily, you should put on older movies and hear how the music playing would be almost similar to this one.
BTOB - WOW
Younger fans might think this is ancient already, but it's not. However, it really does have the perfect Y2K Pop and Hip-Hop sound. It's such a fun song to dance and listen to.
2PM - 10 Out of 10
This was released back in 2008, so it wasn't really that far away from the early 2000s, but we can't leave out this legendary debut and a perfect score of a song. During a time when everyone else wanted to try on a different sound, 2PM debuted with a Y2K-sounding song, and it certainly is memorable!
