On May 18 KST, BB GIRLS member Yujeong appeared as a guest on the YouTube series 'No Back Tak', hosted by Tak Jae Hoon and Shin Gyu Jin.
On this day, the two hosts relentlessly attacked(?) Yujeong with uncomfortable questions, such as "Where do idols go on dates?", "Who is the most popular member of your group?", "Who is the prettiest member of your group?", and more. Rather than getting flustered or giving expected answers, Yujeong simply burst into laughter with each question.
On this day, Yujeong expressed her honest thoughts about being called a "K-Pop Idol". She said, "It's a little difficult to call ourselves 'idols' when our maknae is 31-years old. Age is one thing, but it's also another thing when we feel like we can't really keep up with the 'cute vibe' that idols are supposed to have."
Yujeong instead suggested, "Rather than treating us as one of the idol groups, how about we just be 'female singers' or a 'female group'?"
Also on this day, Yujeong caused laughter by confessing that she once wrote fan fiction about her and Rain.
Meanwhile, all four members of BB GIRLS (formerly Brave Girls) recently signed on as artists under Warner Music Korea.
That's a good response. It isn't fair to expect grown women in their 30s to portray the same type of image as the extremely young idols in the current crop of girl groups. If BB Girls are not bound by current idol conventions, then they can perform the type of music and have the type of image that will showcase them best.
