On the 22nd of September, the Busan Tourism Organization shared a list of the notable places in Busan associated with Jimin. The tour was launched on their Instagram account with photographs of the places shown with BT21’s Chimmy as the guide.
This tour of Jimin’s home town consists of the Dadaepo beach, Oryukdo dock, Geumgang park, Hoedong Suwonji, and the Gamcheon Culture Village. In 2015, Jimin visited the Oryukdo dock during his trip to Busan and vlogged his visit. Years later, due to a high number of inquiries about the place by tourists, a photo zone was set up. Speaking of the setup, the district area official said, “We hope the bright photo zone will be seen by domestic and foreign tourists even at night.”
The Dadaepo beach is another place Jimin visited in 2016 and filmed a YouTube vlog with his brother. This place was subsequently ranked as the second best locale to visit, as selected by BTS fans in a survey by the Korean Tourism Organization in the year 2019.
In 2019, Geumjeong-gu, which is Jimin’s home district, won the best booth award after exhibiting with their ‘Golden journey with BTS Jimin’ at the 22nd Busan International Tourism exhibition. It is at the foot of Geumjeong mountain that Geumgang park was selected for this splendid tour with Jimin. It was a Geumjeong-gu local Mayoral candidate that revealed plans to build a Jimin street during his campaigns in order to boost tourism.
During his Elementary and Middle school going years, Jimin’s school was near the Hoedong suwonji or Hoedong reservoir. This is a beautiful lush area that combines lakes, rivers, and forests, ideal for tourism.
Last is the Gamcheon Culture Village, where one can find the large wall mural of Jimin and Jungkook during their 8th year anniversary of debut. This was installed by the fan site Black'n'White in conjunction with Chinese fans of the two members. This place was also shared by Busan Tourism Organization on their Facebook account in early September last year.
Jimin is indeed the Pride of Busan, he deserves all the recognition and love for all the efforts he has put in place to develop his hometown. In 2020, a happy parent whose daughter studies at the Busan Arts High School shared a post on Weverse thanking Jimin for the 1200 desks and chairs he helped facilitate using the 100 Million won that he donated towards the Busan Metropolitan City office of education for the development of the underprivileged students in the area.
On the 23rd of September, JTBC news mentioned Jimin in its piece on the Busan concert. Reporter Cho Sohee shared her article, in which she wrote about a donation by Jimin to his previous elementary school to help buy school uniforms. In 2018 the donation fairy, as he is often called, reportedly supported the school uniform expenses for his alma mater for a year, as well as donating signed BTS CDs before it closed down.
Jimin is indeed the Pride of Busan, he deserves all the recognition and love ♥
