BTS attended the American Music Awards on November 22, where they were both performers and nominees in three categories, including the much-coveted 'Artist of the Year' category, and ended up sweeping all three awards. It has been close to 2 years since people physically attended award shows, and therefore there was lots of excitement at the thought of finally getting to see or even meet some of the beloved celebrities.

Jimin is one such beloved celebrity who many were looking forward to seeing because they are such big fans of his. He is known to be dearly loved in the US, being a favorite among many celebrities as well as being dubbed as the 'US media darling' for the love and affection he receives from US media outlets. This was proven yet again from the way even before the show began. Jimin was already being mentioned during the non-televised awards in anticipation of his appearance later on. Fans on Twitter and on the Korean online community platform theqoo couldn't help but notice this.

The love that the US media has for Jimin was also evident with how multiple media outlets used Jimin-centered gifs and video clips in their posts about BTS' appearance and performance at the awards show. Known as the 'Face of K-pop' and 'King of K-pop,' Jimin is indeed showing why he has earned these titles.

However, it is not just because of his widespread popularity in the US that the media tends to highlight him. Jimin looked stunning in his outfits, both on the red carpet and during the performances. His long hair with highlights, clear and beautiful skin, striking facial features, and perfect body proportions made it impossible for any pair of eyes not to be glued to him.

As expected with his looks, Jimin caught the attention of non-fans as well. Locals on Twitter started asking about 'the guy in the pink shirt' right from when BTS was on the red carpet. So many such queries came up that the phrase became a default search term on Twitter.

Apart from his jaw-dropping looks, Jimin also delivered a stellar performance. He did not miss a point from his crisp, clear honey vocals to the enchanting dance moves and stage presence.  Jimin always adds his own flavor to his performances, which makes him stand out on any stage. Fans were full of praise for his clean notes and smooth moves, with an unforgettable stage presence.

 With such an exhilarating performance, Jimin became one of the most talked-about individuals on various social platforms. At the very beginning of the show, JIMINS peaked at #1 on the worldwide trends list along with  #BTSxAMAs and YOONGIS.

By the end of the show, JIMIN JIMIN had surpassed 2 million mentions with over 9 million engagements. In particular, the keyword accumulated over 335k mentions within the hour following BTS' 'Butter' performance. On aggregate, all of Jimin's names amassed over 2.5 million mentions. The trends appeared in over 21 countries, consisting of his names and other keywords.

Additionally, after the performance, Jimin's search rates on the web and on YouTube hit 100% several times in the US, South Korea, and Worldwide.

On Facebook, 7 keywords became popular in relation to Jimin following the performance, with 2 of these keywords accumulating over 250k mentions.

Fans also noticed the interactions between Jimin and other American celebrities who are known to be Jimin-biased. They noticed how such stars tended to give long hugs to Jimin when they met the group and how Jimin was always very courteous to them.

Jimin also tried to engage with the fans, given that it has been such a long time since they met, and he wanted the fans to be happy just as he was happy to see them. When fans screamed his name, Jimin waved at them to acknowledge them. He also said 'I love you' back to fans who were screaming his name and telling him they love him. Similarly, after their butter performance, he was seen high-fiving fans who were cheering for them and also bowed to the fans with his hand on his chest. 

As respectable as Jimin is known to be, he was also seen to be ensuring that everyone was enjoying the performances rather than focusing on him and the group, just as he did when he attended Harry Styles' concert. He would also signal the camera people to focus on recording the artists performing on stage rather than recording him and his group members whenever the cameras were pointed at him.

All in all, Jimin delivered everything from visuals, vocals, dance, and his good nature. He really was a shining star in every aspect.
