The female founder of Korea's largest porn site Soranet has been arrested.
On June 25, the Cyber Investigation Services of Seoul Police Agency announced they have arrested Song (45) for violating the laws on child and juvenile sex protection.
Back on June 18, Song returned to South Korea from New Zealand after her passport was annulled by authorities. She was then arrested by the police on the 21st.
Since 1999, Song, her husband, and another couple with the last names Hong ran Soranet; the largest porn site in South Korea. The site held thousands of illegal porn videos including hidden camera clips illegally filmed at public locations.
In March 2015, Soranet was shut down and the police officially started the investigation of the illegal activities within the site.
The distribution of pornography is illegal in South Korea. Song and the co-founders are also accused of planning gang rape, arranging prostitution, and more.
