On December 1, Bang PD engaged in an exclusive interview with The Chosun Ilbo, where he talked about his strategy in producing a mega-hit group. The producer also talked about his former labelmate J.Y. Park of JYP Entertainment. 

When asked, "We're curious about the reaction of J.Y. Park who you used to work together with for a long time. Is he envious at all?"

It's known that J.Y. Park has always dreamed of debuting and succeeding a group in the United States. An example of the attempt is Wonder Girls.

Bang PD answered, "Not at all. Jin Young hyung is not the type to get jealous of such things. He's the person who I think is the coolest of all, and the first person who came into my mind when BTS succeeded. Jin Young hyung was the first person I talked to on the phone when BTS received an award at 'Billboard Music Awards', and I've also talked with him on the phone when they recently attended 'AMAs'. He told me, 'I'm so proud of you. Thank you. You are amazing'."
