On October 13, the Seoul High Court sentenced actor A to 1 year in prison, 2 years of probation, and 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program for sexually molesting actress B on the set of a film in April of 2015. Though he plead innocent, A was found guilty of ripping off co-star B's underwear, forcibly putting his hand in her pants, and grabbing her without her consent. B also stated she suffered skin abrasions following the event for 2 weeks.
According to A, he plead innocent as he was following orders from the director and was simply getting in character. In December of 2016, A was found innocent of the charges though prosecution requested a sentence of 5 years in prison as the court found the director had advised A on his role. Furthermore, B was reportedly not informed of the direction of the scene, which was allegedly not in the script. After review by an appellate court during an appeal trial on October 13, A was convicted of sexual molestation.
A is said to be an actor who's performed in theater, dramas, and movies. He's also reported to be known for the role of a villain in a popular drama on cable television. On October 14, insiders further revealed A was cast in an upcoming drama, but will no longer be appearing.
