On September 15, the agency made an official announcement on Wanna One's fan cafe. The notice stated, "Wanna One decided not to attend 'Taste with K-Pop Star' scheduled on October 21."
The label explained, "In the contract, the event is promised to be a non-profit free event that will not sell tickets, and Wanna One has confirmed attendance. However, the representatives of the event violated the contract and started selling tickets to the event. That is why we have taken such action. We hope there are no misunderstandings among fans regarding Wanna One's attendance."

YMC Entertainment emphasized, "If it was a paid event from the very beginning, then we wouldn't have decided to attend it no matter how much the pay is."
Netizens praised YMC Entertainment for the cancellation and commented, "It's the event operators fault... They said it was free but then started selling tickets... What does that make of the artists who wanted to donate their talent? Ridiculous people", "It's good to see YMC is taking the right action!", "I'm glad they gave a proper feedback on the issue."
