Choi Min Ki (Ren), Kang Dong Ho (Baekho), Kim Jong Hyun (JR), and Hwang Min Hyun of the boy group announced that they'll be halting all NU'EST promotions to participate in 'Produce 101' season 2.
On the first episode aired on April 7, the boys met former labelmate Kahi, who broke down in tears after seeing them on stage.
Following the broadcast, other current and former After School members showed support for the boys.

Nana also showed support via Instagram. She wrote, "Your passion and confidence in challenging yourselves once again without giving up are really amazing and cool. I'll be supporting you guys from the back!!!! I hope your future will be filled with good things as much as you guys have worked hard and waited for it. Dong Ho, Jong Hyun, Min Hyun, Min Ki yah, fighting :) ? Please give them a lot of support and attention."
Former After School member Jung Ah left an encouraging message, writing, "I'm supporting you guys."
