A mental institution in Incheon was found to be abusing their patients who are mostly mentally disabled people.
On December 6, Yonhap News reported the institution's alleged actions against the mentally disabled patients. According to the report the patients were starved, wearing nothing but diapers, and were almost skeletally skinny.

In the hidden camera that was able to access the building, you can see the patients who have clearly been mistreated. Some are not even in a proper bed, as the institution used a laundry room to board some disabled patients. Many have signs of abuse, like bruises and other marks of violence. Many were also found to be bound to their beds, which is an illegal practice unless the patients are endangering themselves or others around them.
A staff member at the institution insisted that there is no abuse or any mistreatment at their facility and even threatened the reporter who tried to interview him.
The police and a human rights organization have started to investigate the mental institution to learn the extent of the abuse.
