Previously, when Kai showed himself in public for the 1st time since his dating news broke out, netizens and fans flocked online with hateful comments, calling the idol out for "putting on a show" in a wheelchair.
Reporter Lee Seung Rok from media outlet 'My Daily' has come up with speculations about why the two idols' fans are so angry and so disappointed.
The reporter wrote, "Whether its true or false, the fact that fans are looking through these celebrities' private lives is wrong. They do not have the right to dig into the private lives of celebrities just because they are fans. However, Kai and Krystal should take heed into the fact that their fans are, in fact, angry. They shouldn't mistake this for just plain jealousy. Right now, what fans are feeling can be described as 'betrayal'."
He further explained, "The reason that fans are so angry right now is because their idols have shattered the images that they've built up since debut. Rather than living up to the trustworthy images they've built up, they've now just become two idols who care more about their own dating life than maintaining trust with their fans."
The reporter went on to mention two different cases in which celebrity dating news broke out, and how the celebrities reacted. He first mentioned the recent announcer couple Oh Sang Jin and Kim So Young. "When news of Oh Sang Jin and Kim So Young broke out, Oh Sang Jin addressed his fans through his label with, 'I offer sincere apologies to fans who must have been shocked to hear such sudden news'."
He also mentioned, "Singer IU also took to her fan cafe when her boyfriend got revealed to the public, to write, 'I'm sorry for the surprise. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you sooner. If you're saying, 'You should've been more careful!', then I'm sorry for not doing that either'."
In conclusion, the reported wrote, "Kai and Krystal need to turn and look behind them, at all the waiting fans. When Oh Sang Jin or IU personally apologized to their fans, they were turning to their fans, who have trusted and loved them all this time, for permission and consent."
What are you thoughts on the reporter's views? Do you think there's a need for Kai and Krystal to address fans personally?
