Back in 2014 former Korean Air Vice President Heather Cho, who is also the daughter of Korean Air chief, was under fire for the 'nut rage'. Heather Cho received an immense amount of criticism, and was sentenced to jail for forcing a plane to return to the gate because of incorrect peanut servings. This time her father, Cho Yang Ho, is under fire for a similar behavioral issue.
The controversy arose as Cho Yang Ho left a comment on a Facebook post by Korean Air pilot Kim. Kim elaborated on the complexities of his job as he wrote, "They say that pilots with a nine-figure salary (six figures in USD) shouldn't complain because they work barely 100 hours a month, so let me show you what we have to prepare for each flight." Kim then explained the immense amount of time and dedication put into preparing for flights.
Soon the chief of the airline fired back on the post as he commented, "Your posting is full of professional jargon, but 99 percent of your work isn't new. Aircraft are flying on autopilot, which is easier than driving a car. Pilots are useful only in emergencies. You're just exaggerating. A dog would laugh."
This rude response from Cho Yang Ho greatly offended many pilots. The public has also once again turned their backs on Korean Air as the head figures continue to create nonsense controversies.
As a result, Korean Air pilots union is preparing to sue Cho Yang Ho for defamation.
