During the final trial held at Suwon District Court on September 22, prosecution demanded ten years of imprisonment for Mr. Jang, a former professor of a university in Gyeonggi province. They also demanded that two of Jang's underlings, who were accomplices in the atrocious crimes, each serve six years in prison.

The prosecution provided the reasoning behind their decisions, explaining, "Using his position to inflict harm on an underling by beating him with a baseball bat and feeding his feces is a crime highly offensive in nature."
Jang's attorney pleaded, "The defendant bitterly regrets his actions towards the plaintiff, realizing how much suffering he endured." Jang himself was said to have pleaded, "As a father with two children, I have committed a monstrous sin. I want to die from the guilt of giving unendurable pain to the plaintiff and his family. I'm also sorry towards my employees who were charged as accomplices in this crime. Please let my employees go free. I'm incredibly sorry."
Jang was indicted under charges of abusing 29-year-old Mr. Jeon, who was working as a secretary at his design association enterprise, by beating him with blunt weapons, feeding him feces, and shooting pepper spray into his face. Jang and two of his fellow employees engaged in these disgustingly vile acts from February of 2012 until May of this year, over 40 times.
Further, Jang and one of his employees, Jung, allegedly spent around 111 million KRW (~$93,600 USD) from the business for personal uses, and is also charged for embezzling around 33 million KRW (~$27,800 USD) from the National Research Foundation of Korea.
