Crown Prince Lee Yoon--or I should say King Lee Yoon (KY)--is about to strike down Sung Yeol (SY) with his longsword when the hunter Baek In Ho arrives just in time to save both SY and Yang Sun (YS). What a trooper, bravely facing 10+ guards all by himself. Thanks to him, at least YS and SY escaped despite SY's bedraggled state.
Lee Jun Ki: I told you not to eat that cheesecake.
Lee Yu Bi: But it was red velvet...
Hye Ryeong (HR) hoards the magical cloak all to herself, as she wants SY to be in a weakened, vulnerable state. That way he won't be able to protect YS, and HR will be able to pry her away from SY with more ease. Believing that YS is indeed the descendant of Gwi, HR plans to offer up the girl to the vampire. HR remembers Gwi telling her that only an offspring born from him will be able to kill him. What is not certain is whether YS is really Gwi's heir. Gwi did mention that he once loved a human woman but the identity of said woman was never exposed.
Don't tell me this face doesn't please you.
B*tch please I'm so much sexier than thou.
Gwi rampages at HR for failing to bring the cloak. Gwi sets his 'pet' (aka KY's past righthand man No Hak Young) loose on KY, threatening the king that he will suffer the same fate as his undead underling. Gwi gets busy politicking, scheming to turn the hearts of the public against KY. He orders for all meetings to be held in the dead of the night and for KY to smear the name of his grandfather, the past monarch, which is sure to incite public anger. Gwi also orders the king to forbid the congregation of more than ten people in broad daylight and arrest any man wearing a black robe without question. Wait! That isn't all. Gwi demands that citizens offer up a virgin girl to the palace every month before the full moon; otherwise, taxes will be doubled.
Pimp status.
As you may have guessed, Gwi's politicking is all a part of his grand scheme to bring SY out of hiding. He knows SY will not just sit idly by and observe the suffering of the people.
Lee Yu Bi Y U SO PRETTEHHH.
When Soo Hyang (SH) relates her assumption to YS that YS may be the descendant of the maternal line who will kill Gwi, the girl turns herself in to the palace. Meanwhile, hunter Baek In Ho recalls that Gwi killed YS's birth mother by sucking her blood dry; yet, Gwi is still alive, which could only mean that YS is not the offspring of Gwi that everyone thinks she is. So now, we are back to square one once again. Well, at least there are only five more episode to go. The story can't possibly get any slower...right?
