According to the Daegu Police Department, officer Kim Jung Mi was extremely worried when she heard about the accidents involving the elderly around the neighborhood of Kyungrodang. Reports were increasing of elderly people getting hit by cars while pushing their strollers/walkers in the neighborhood.
Officer Kim Jung Mi decided that she would help out and attached colorful pinwheels on the strollers/walkers so that even drivers from afar could clearly see them walking by.
On this day, it was reported that the neighborhood was filled with vibrant pinwheels, adding that the percentage of accidents has decreased thanks to the efforts made by officer Kim Jung Mi.
Officer Kim Jung Mi said, "If these pinwheels can help prevent just one accident, then I am happy to go around senior centers, attaching pinwheels to the strollers of the elderly."
