Mnet's popular reality competition show 'Unpretty Rapstar' was recently deemed as inappropriate by the Korea Communication Standards Commission for allowing swear words and profane gestures to be broadcast on air.
On May 7, a rep from the commission stated, "This program has female rappers competing against one another for a rap contest while releasing obscene gestures and soundbites that include swear words that can clearly be recognized as obscene for a long period of time," before revealing their decision to suspend the program and their plans to take disciplinary actions against the producers behind the show.

A portion of the commission also suggested that they take measures to reinforce sanctions against broadcast content providers and increase the effectiveness of the restrictions given.
Meanwhile, it was reported that producers have been given several warnings in the past for 'Show Me The Money' due to similar issues as stated above.
