Following JYPE's announcement that a Chinese (& Korean) version of the Wonder Girls would be debuting in 2010, many have been scrambling around trying to find more about this mysterious upcoming group. These videos have been floating around for a quite a while now, so while we wait for further details, let's take a look at what people have been digging up recently. For months, many have believed that the group is called the JYP Sisters, but like with most upcoming groups (SME's "Crystal" debut ended up being f(x) instead, YGE's "Sista" ended up being named 2NE1), chances are that the actual group name will be something entirely different. But for the sake of simplicity, let's just stick with "JYP Sisters" for now. JYPE also reported that the exact number of members hasn't been decided yet. Last June, sources indicated that the group would have three members, but videos from the girls' showcase last May suggest that four to six members have already been chosen. As we reported in our last article, JYPE revealed that the members of this upcoming group have been performing at small showcases in China. One of our readers MaeYe dug up some videos supposedly of these events from last spring. I'm always pretty skeptical about artists that are introduced as 2.0 versions of established groups, but talent-wise (dance & voice), these girls aren't that bad. In the introductions of the first clip, three of the five girls introduce themselves as Small Apple (I kid you not), Feifei and Sarah; the other two are supposedly Xiaofei and Mengjia. However, other rumors indicate that the group has a mixture of Korean and Chinese members, so this probably won't be the actual group line-up. Honey by JYP: cr. dothattt Low by Flo Rida: cr. jypsisters Open One Eye and Close the Other by Jolin Tsai: cr. jypsisters I Think I by Byul (Full House OST): cr. dothattt And of course, the inevitable Wonder Girls cover... Nobody (Rainstone Remix) by the Wonder Girls: cr. SCISLOVE For me, this... ...> WG 2.0 any day, but I'm curious to see what this upcoming group will bring. Hopefully these girls will get to bring something new to the table instead of being a rehashed version of the Wonder Girls' past concepts. Keep in mind that JYP Entertainment's Korean or Chinese branches haven't confirmed any details yet! Stay tuned for more on this group.
