Even though Abracadabra is beginning to approach of end its promotions, the Brown Eyed Girls have definitely gotten a kick out of promoting this song - from multiple variety show appearances (including the infamous MNet Scandal) to a rich collection of golds (not just topping charts & shows; Miryo is ranked as Korea's hottest rapper), these girls have definitely made an impressive comeback. On September 5, the girls performed on Kim Jeong-Eun's Chocolate with their own songs as well as other covers. Speaking of being the Hottest, if you're an allkpop addict that checks for news multiple times a day, you've undoubtedly heard of "Dirty Eyed Girls", One Day (2AM & 2PM)'s tear-jerkingly hilarious parody of the Girls' latest hit, "Abracadabra". The talented foursome returned the favor with their own rendition of 2PM's "Again and Again", and although 'hilarious' is definitely not the right word to use when describing it, the performance is an absolute keeper! By slowing down the tempo and upping the emotion, the Brown Eyed Girls traded pop for piano, turning this hit track into a ballad with strong vocals that evoked a feeling of despair and pain. The song picks up a minute or so into the performance, but the soulful feel is still there; I absolutely love hearing the chords and vibratos that JeA & Ga In belt so easily. The Brown Eyed Girls also performed "Abracadabra", "I Want U" by Drunken Tiger (powerful rap cover by Miryo & Narsha) and their 2008 hit "How Come". Each member also unveiled individual talents - Miryo unleashed another sick rap (and hilarious freestyle), Narsha revealed her expertise in beatboxing, JeA showed off piano skills and Ga In did a dance cover of... Rainism?! Many people grumble about girl groups being talentless pretty faces these days, and though they have a good point in some cases, this performance confirms the fact that the Brown Eyed Girls don't fall in that category. Furthermore, the mic system, which amplified the girls' live, raw voices and left them unobscured by pre-recorded vocals, allowed us to hear each of them really take their own spins and make editorials in their songs, especially in "How Come". You've gotta love these girls' voices and unique talents! Check out the show here; for the 'Again & Again' cover, check out part 4. Pt 1: Abracadabra Pt 2: Interview Pt 3: Rap (Miryo), Beatbox (Narsha) & Rainism (Ga In... lulzy back pain at 5:17!) Pt 4: "Again & Again", "I Want U", "How Come" Thanks to PhillyWillyGASP for the tip & CodeMonmonSeason4 for the videos!
