One of America's most popular comedians, Stephen Colbert, is fighting Korean singer-turned-actor Rain, for his number one spot on the Time "Top 100 Most Influential People in the World" poll. Last year, the 43-year-old comedian, who is best known for his show "The Colbert Report" on Comedy Central, made a parody video of Rain's music video "How to Avoid the Sun," after he found out that the singer was named "the most influential" person of 2007. Although this year's online poll has already been open to the public to vote, the rivals are just beginning their face off. "I will not have this Korean war end like the last one... with a sitcom starring Alan Alda," Colbert said on his show April 23. On the show, Colbert also showed a video clip of Rain "trash talking" him in an interview with Time. "I saw your Korean pop video on your show, and I have to say you look almost as good as me," Rain, 25, said. "But, as for the singing, lets just say... please don't quit your day job." Colbert responded by saying that his day job was being the president of his hate club, and that he would like to have Rain come on his show for a dance off. Well, I'm not too sure who I side with in the dance competition, but.. I do know that while these two are going at it with each other (playfully, of course), Shigeru Miyamoto, a video-game designer, is topping both of them with 1,747,213 votes. I think it's time for Colbert and Rain to hold each other's hands and tag team Miyamoto to claim number one. On a side note, Rain left The Colbert Report studio today at around 4:00 pm after shooting. There's a chance that his segment may air tonight at 11:30pm EST on Comedy Central.
