ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin opens up about management, thanks NewJeans' fans, and reveals hopes for NewJeans during 2nd press conference

Min Hee Jin opened up about her thoughts on management, thanked NewJeans' fans, and revealed her hopes for NewJeans during her second press conference.

On May 31, ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin held a press conference to address the decision to dismiss 2 members of ADOR's executive board at HYBE's shareholders meeting earlier the same day. She touched on her feelings after winning her injunction against HYBE, revealed plans for NewJeans future activities, and suggested a reconciliation with HYBE with constructive discussions.

Her lawyer also detailed the lack of grounds for Min Hee Jin's proposed dismissal from ADOR, citing KakaoTalk messages and other evidence. Min Hee Jin further insisted her primary role as ADOR's CEO is not to seek personal gain, but to aim for the company's success. She commented on the emotional strain caused by the conflict with HYBE and the need for rational, objective management, stating, "As an executive, you need to see the numbers. If the numbers aren't as they should be, then the management should be criticized. The objective, radical approach is what is needed here. All the rest of the emotions are all plays on words." Min Hee Jin said of her last press conference, "At the last news conference, my rage was up in the sky, and I said a lot of rash things. I'm not like that in real life. I'm an ordinary person, but I think people misunderstood me last time."

As for NewJeans, Min Hee Jin stated they're currently in preparations for their first world tour. She expressed, "We were going to go to campus concerts around the country, and it was planned long before. The reason is simple: There are a lot of people who want to see them in rural areas, but the industry before wasn't equipped to handle a nationwide tour. I didn't want to be misunderstood that way. We're trying to efficiently work to give the fans what they want, promote NewJeans' new songs, and upgrade the members' skills."

Min Hee Jin then went back and forth with a reporter who requested she respond to questions with concise answers. She stated, "But this is really important for me to explain," concluding she'll try to be concise moving forward.

When asked if it was true HYBE suggested she sell NewJeans' albums in bulk to increase first week album sales, Min Hee Jin responded, "Yes, it's true it was suggested. HYBE said they just said it casually while smoking, but when they are taking my jokes seriously and hope I can take their suggestions as jokes, that doesn't make sense. I think we must put them on the same level."

As for whether it's true Min Hee Jin attempted to take control over ADOR, she said, "It's contradictory to say I was doing this to strengthen my grip over the company. I already have control over the company. HYBE needs to decide whether it is going to be the white knight or the black knight. Whatever I seek to do, the final decision lies with HYBE. About the betrayal we talked about, I think I felt that betrayal first, and HYBE broke that trust first... But as a subsidiary, what power do I have? I only have an 18% stake [in ADOR]."

Min Hee Jin also addressed questions about groups like BTSILLIT, and LE SSERAFIM getting hurt in the crossfire between her and HYBE, saying, "Everyone got hurt, including NewJeans. Not pinpointing one specific person, but as I said before, I'm a human too. One of my employees told me [the public] is firing at me like I'm not a person anymore. But I am, and the members are too. I don't want to say anything to a specific person, but if everybody wants not to hurt everyone, they just have to stay silent. But they keep pushing it and bringing everyone up. That's how people get hurt. If people want to consider others, don't mention them."

In response to questions about the allegations she spoke badly of NewJeans and the members reactions to that, Min Hee Jin said, "They reached out to me because they knew that I was hurt. When you look at the screen captures, those were things that just needed to be discussed."

On alleging ILLIT's concept stole from NewJeans, Min Hee Jin said, "We were not aware of what ILLIT's concept was. The most iconic example of this would be the teaser released on March 6. When we looked at the hanbok magazine shots, we were like 'What?' But we weren't sure if we should raise the issue. In the midst of all this, the time I was given to review the shareholder contract was very short. HYBE understood I was in that situation, and back then, we were on good terms. If you're asking if I didn't doubt them... it would be weird to doubt a friend. Maybe that person didn't think of me as a friend, but we were acquaintances, and normally one would trust that."

On Min Hee Jin's relationship with NewJeans' parents and fans, she expressed, "The Bunnies, the parents, they checked on me everyday because I might make an extreme decision. They always asked me if I was okay and told me to eat. Even just yesterday, we were crying. To be honest, there's no relationship like this in the entertainment scene. We talked on the phone for an hour or two about whether the members were hurt or about every decision made on them. Naturally, we would learn about each other's deep familial matters. I'm also close to the members' sisters and brothers. This is the type of relationship that could not help but form... I tell the parents honestly about what the members have done right or wrong."

As for her vision for NewJeans, the ADOR CEO stated, "It's just to live happily for both NewJeans and me. You are young, you want to become a celebrity, but you don't know what an artist is. But it's a big company, and they say they are the expert, so the kids auditioned and came. They didn't know anything about the system... During the contract period, I told them they were studying with me. I am the teacher, and I have many other good teachers... I want them to live the life they want. That's for the long-term good for them. Not signing contracts again. I think that's the industry's malpractice." She later added, "I think of NewJeans as my own children. If I think about them, it's so painful. Let's do this, and everything's gone? It's all so painful. That's why I said I would back down."

When asked once again whether she believes ILLIT "copied" NewJeans, Min Hee Jin said, "As I've said before, I'm a consistent person, and it's not like my thoughts would've changed. I already said I didn't want to mention the members, but now we're at a stage where the issue is different... I thought it was crucially necessary for me to raise the issue for NewJeans' survival. If something like that happens again, yes, I will call it out. One day I would go, 'I should just expose everything and blow it up,' and on another day I'd go, 'Ah, I should just endure it.' But it's not like I write all my feelings down on KakaoTalk. I don't record them every second."

Min Hee Jin then concluded by saying she would donate the money "back to society" if HYBE ends up compensating her, referring to the compensation value of 20 billion won ($14,528,232 USD) set by the court if HYBE ignores the injunction and dismisses her. She further thanked NewJeans fans Bunnies for their continued support of her and asserted she's not motivated by greed.

Min Hee Jin ended her press conference, saying, "I hope all turns out to be good for NewJeans."

Stay tuned for updates.

do people not realise she’s contradicting herself lmao saying people shouldn’t mention other groups if they don’t want them to get hurt as if she didn’t mention all of them herself in the first place lmao also admitting to trash talk newjeans members and saying they were hurt because she was hurt ??? Like what is she on about

lol I can’t take this bitch seriously. The number of times she was being a hypocrite and expecting others to be lenient with her hurtful and crazy behaviour yet pointing fingers at others for doing the same thing is laughable. Just 3 examples that I could pick out (of course there’s more in the press conference):

So when there was evidence found that she was plotting with investors and her minions to weaken Hybe, it was just an innocent meeting and we shouldn’t take her words seriously but when she accuses others of chart manipulation then we should take it seriously? Okay, interesting.

2. Min Hee Jin also addressed questions about groups like BTS, ILLIT, and LE SSERAFIMgetting hurt in the crossfire between her and HYBE, saying, "Everyone got hurt, including NewJeans.

Bitch has amnesia or what? Who was the one leaking her kakao talk messages with BSH about Le Sserafim (even going as far as mentioning Sakura and Chaewon specifically), as well as aespa, ILLIT, etc and that too during the press conference for the country to see? So she has no problem throwing these young girls and their whole careers under the bus, but you ask her to take accountability and suddenly “she’s human”. Wow. So those girls are not human then?

3. In response to questions about the allegations she spoke badly of NewJeans and the members reactions to that, Min Hee Jin said, "They reached out to me because they knew that I was hurt. When you look at the screen captures, those were things that just needed to be discussed."

Okay this one worries me. SHE was the one badmouthing NJ yet THEY were comforting her? That doesn’t sound right. It sounds more like an abuser who abuses their victims and then turns around and pretends to be the victim and makes them feel bad so they can give her sympathy. On top of that, she was bragging about how close she is to her employees and their parents. That just screams “lack of boundaries” to me.

As a psychology major, there are so many red flags going off every time I read something from this woman. Everything sounds very carefully planned and to always make her out to be the victim in all the situations. It’s psychotic.
