On December 9, CL appeared as a guest on the popular talk show 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'. Here, CL performed her song "Lover Like Me" and sat down for an interview with the main host, Kelly Clarkson, to talk about her new album 'Alpha'. 

During her interview, CL surprised many when she revealed that the former professional boxer Mike Tyson and the energy that he brings to the fighting arena was actually the inspiration for her new album. Explaining that she enjoys listening to his podcasts, CL stated, "Some of the things [Tyson] said [were], things like 'before I fight' [and] 'how he feels connected to that',". Hearing this, Kelly Clarkson asked, "Oh, do you see the stage as a boxing arena?" CL replied, "I think it's just about the gap between the emotions you use onstage and offstage...and that's what 'Alpha' is about." CL also performed her track "Lover Like Me", impressing the audience and Kelly Clarkson with her powerful stage presence.
