The girls of (G)I-DLE visited the popular music program 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook' on January 15 in order to promote their comeback mini album, 'I Burn'!
On this day, (G)I-DLE impressed 'Sketchbook' viewers not only with their dynamic performances, but also with the vocal line's beautiful harmony as they sang a cover of Urban Zakapa's "I Don't Love You", the team's overall musicianship as rising K-Pop stars, and more.
First, MC Yoo Hee Yeol chatted with (G)I-DLE about their unique musical color, particularly with hits like "LATATA" and "DUMDi DUMDi". Leader Soyeon, who composed, wrote, and produced both tracks, explained that she intended to create titles or catch phrases which would be unique to (G)I-DLE and memorable to listeners. The title "LATATA" was inspired by a segment on 'Gag Concert' she used to watch when she was young, while the phrase "DUMDi DUMDi" was based off of the sound of a heart beating.
Soyeon also revealed her dream as a musician. She said, "My dream has always been to make money while having fun doing what I want to do. I started music because I loved it, with the intention of doing it for life. I don't ever want music to become a chore for me, so I've decided that this is my dream."
In addition, G(I)-DLE's Miyeon and Shuhua shared their hopes to embark on a world tour as soon as possible, once the COVID19 situation gets better. You can watch below as Shuhua sends out an adorable and heartwarming greeting to fans, promising them that they will see one another soon.
