Red Velvet passed 30 million of views of "Psycho" in less than a week - 6 days time! Song also get 2,1 mln likes. Since MV debut it was placed high on "trending worldwide on youtube" playlist with artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, Tyler The Creator, Kehlani and Ed Sheeran.
Just for quick comparison (G)-Idle hit "Lion" music video made a bit less views than "Psycho" and it's "online" for near two months.
From newer, recent MVs that are considered as "hits" IU's "Blueming" and Stray Kids "Levanter" made hit both 21 mln mark.
For other songs that debuted in late fall/winter GOT7 "You calling my name" MV made 58 mln views and Mamamoo "HIP" MV made about 45 mln views. EXO's "Obsession" MV is currently near 46,5 mln views.
Which song that debuted in november/december is your favorite one? How long do you think it will take for Red Velvet's "Psycho" to pass Mamamoo's "HIP"? Or maybe in your opinion that won't happen anytime soon?
That title and most of the content was very necessary. Just celebrate their success without discrediting it.
Views don't mean anything, you can compare the views that they get on Naver to other groups that surpass them on Youtube, there the competition will be a bit more tight. It's all about perspective. Seventeen's Fear only has 24 million views, but they have the second highest albums sales among all idols this year.
So, just do away with all the comparing and enjoy the group to it's fullest. This stuff just causes unnecessary fanwars.
Congrats to Red Velvet for 30 mil!
