MBC's 'Mask King' has prepared a 'Lunar New Year' special episode(s) featuring 8 idol vocalists. 

For this week, 6 out of the 8 contestants battled it out in duos, unmasking a total of 3 idol vocalists. Comprised of both male and female idols, the vocalists gave it their all by singing their favorite English and Korean songs. 

Before the actual battle, all 8 contestants stepped onto the stage to sing "We Are The Champions" by Queen (above).

Then, Round 1 began, with 'John Lennon' vs 'Pavarotti'. The two sang "Runaway Baby" by Bruno Mars.

As a 'Lunar New Year' special series, this week's episode also allowed both contestants to sing their solo songs after the duet, in order to give each contestant more individual points to compile. Hence, even though a contestant may lose the duet round, it was possible to win by gaining a higher overall score with the solo stage points added in. 

Unfortunately, 'John Lennon' lost the duet stage. For the solo stages, the winner from the duet stage had to sing h/er solo first. 

'Pavarotti', the winner of the duet stage, first sang "Cleaning" by The Ray.

Afterward, 'John Lennon' sang "I Love You" by Position.

After the compilation of the total scores, 'John Lennon' still lost Round 1. When the time came for him to unmask himself, the crowd went wild as they saw SF9's Inseong on stage!

For Round 2, it was 'Princess Jasmine' vs 'Princess Belle'. They sang together "Listen" by Beyonce.

'Princess Jasmine', who won the duet stage, sang "Spark" by BoA.

Then, 'Princess Belle' sang "The Red" by Naomi. 

After adding all the scores, 'Princess Belle' won Round 2, with a higher solo stage score.

When 'Princess Jasmine' unmasked herself, the crowd was joyful to see Cosmic Girls' main vocalist Yeonjung on the stage!

Round 3 was a battle between 'Gogh' vs 'Klimt'. They sang "Come What May", the soundtrack to the film 'Moulin Rouge'.

For her solo stage, 'Klimt' sang "Melted" by AKMU.

For his solo stage, 'Gogh' sang "The Last Love" by Kim Beom Soo.

In the end, 'Klimt' still won the entire round of Round 3, which forced 'Gogh' to unmask himself.

And, the idol vocalist behind 'Gogh' was none other than 100%'s Rokhyun!

With all the idols showing off their vocal abilities at once, the panel guests and the audiences applauded everyone for delivering awesome stages. Next week, the 4th group with 2 more idol contestants will present their own stage. The tournament continues! Check out the preview below.
