Netizens are buzzing about the most popular overseas destinations for Koreans in 2024, categorized by age groups.

On an online forum, users discussed recent Korean Air statistics highlighting the cities Koreans are most frequently visiting, broken down by age range.

For travelers in their 20s and 30s, the top five destinations are, in order starting from #1: Tokyo, Bangkok, Fukuoka, Osaka, and Shanghai. 

Meanwhile, for those in their 40s and 50s, the top five cities remain largely similar, with Tokyo, Bangkok, Fukuoka, Osaka, and Singapore taking the lead.

For Koreans in their 60s and 70s, the preferred destinations include Tokyo, Bangkok, Manila, Fukuoka, and Los Angeles.

The data also shed light on the most popular destinations across regions: Los Angeles leads in the USA, London in the European continent, and Bangkok in Southeast Asia.

For family trips, the top three cities from #1 to #3 are Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka, while solo travelers favor Tokyo, Bangkok, and Los Angeles. 

Interestingly, Tokyo was the most visited city for trips taken during weekends or national holidays without using vacation days.
