High school students, who quickly reported and even chased after a man who was found molesting middle school girls, were given Police Commendation Awards.
According to a statement by Gwangju Jeil High School, on June 29, the Gwangju Nambu Police Station presented a certification of commendation to two high school seniors - Choi and Yoo. The two male students witnessed two middle school girls being sexually harassed by a suspicious man in the park in Bongseon-dong, Nam-gu, on June 4th and immediately called 112 (the emergency number to contact police in Korea).
The two male students played an important role in arresting the criminal by notifying the police officer who arrived at the location. The male students reported the condition of the middle school girls and continued to report the GPS location of their phones. Additionally, the two high school students chased after the man keeping a safe distance from him.
Choi and Yoo stated, "All we thought was that we needed to save those girls who are the same age of our little sisters. Therefore, our actions came first before we can even think. We will do the same thing if the same situation happens in the future."
A police official praised the two students saying, "I am proud of these two boys for their attentiveness and courage. They had the mindset and courage to report to the police and took the time to save the girls from danger even though they are high school seniors who are about to take the college entrance exams."
"Even though they are high school seniors who are about to take the college entrance exams." Uhm... excuse me? Does that meant it's excusable for them not to report that crime because of that???
Anyways, props to the boys who did it tho, how depraved does that individual must be to do that
