It has been reported that President Moon Jae In will not use his last pardon, according to Yonhap News.

On May 2, Yonhap News reported that President Moon repeatedly considered the possibility of pardoning former President Lee Myung Bak, former Gyeongnam governor Kim Kyung Soo, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae Yong, and others. However, President Moon ultimately decided not to pardon anyone.

A high-ranking official at the Blue House told Yonhap News, "There is nothing that has been revealed about the discussion of a pardon. There has been no official discussion regarding the pardon." A key official also added, "It has been decided that there will be no final pardon at the end of his presidential term."

In this regard, Yonhap News explained, "In the political circles, there are analyses that pardoning has become difficult because President Moon has not actually set up a policy to implement the pardon until today."
