With an increasing number of YouTubers who are filming at restaurants without prior permission, restaurant owners are putting up 'No YouTube Zone' signs in their stores.
This movement of restaurants putting up these signs has started recently as there are individuals who trespass into the kitchen claiming to be filming for YouTube or shooting the restaurant without consent from the owners.
In addition, there even have been YouTubers who request free meals claiming they will promote the restaurant through their YouTube channel. One YouTuber named Hayan Tree, who has over 700,000 subscribers, has been criticized for filming without permission and giving that restaurant a bad review saying, "The food tastes bad." According to the restaurant owner in Hayan Tree's video, their store was negatively affected by the YouTuber's negative review as they decreased in sales after.
Due to the increasing number of similar cases, many restaurants are prohibiting any type of individual filming. Many famous restaurants that previously appeared on broadcast also put up signs saying, "No YouTube or streamers allowed."
Many YouTubers are complaining and against this 'No YouTube Zone' as they state that it is unfair for restaurants to allow photos to be taken and posted on social media but are against YouTube videos.
yeah maybe it's time for youtubers to learn that you need to get clearance for the venue first, just like every legit production crew does
