Global superfans now have a new way to connect with their favorite artists as Weverse, the international fan platform, officially launches its private chat service, Weverse DM, on China’s largest music streaming platform, QQ Music.
On November 5, QQ Music announced via its Weibo account that it had formed a strategic partnership with Weverse and would be introducing the Weverse DM service. The service will be integrated as an in-app feature within QQ Music and is set to officially launch on November 18.
Operated by Tencent Music Entertainment (TME), QQ Music is China’s leading music streaming service. With Weverse DM now accessible through QQ Music, the move is expected to enhance convenience for Chinese fans, expand artists’ fan communities, and accelerate user growth for Weverse.
Weverse DM enables intimate conversations between fans and artists. It is actively used by musicians on Weverse such as TXT and LE SSERAFIM, as well as actors including Byun Woo Seok and Lee Chae Min. A key feature of Weverse DM is its automatic translation into 14 languages, allowing international fans—including those in China—to communicate with artists seamlessly.
A QQ Music representative commented, “With the launch of Weverse DM, Chinese fans using QQ Music can now interact with artists more smoothly and conveniently. This collaboration has also expanded entertainment content and services on QQ Music, allowing users to enjoy music streaming, social media, and interactive features all in one place.”
A representative from Weverse Company added, “By providing the core communication service, Weverse DM, in partnership with a local Chinese platform, we can improve accessibility for fans. We plan to expand Weverse’s business in China to enhance convenience and accessibility for our Chinese fan community.”
