Cho Hyunyoung, member of the girl group Rainbow, brought up her past public relationship with singer Alex during a candid conversation on television.
On the August 19th KST episode of SBS’s ‘Dolsing Fourmen’, Cho appeared as a guest alongside Go Woori, Bae Jungnam, and Kim Kyuwon.
During the show, Cho expressed frustration toward her bandmate Go Woori, saying, “Woori talks about my dating history without discussing it with me first. It’s frustrating. I had a public relationship a long time ago, and many people don’t even remember it, but she keeps digging it back up.”

Go Woori clarified, “In an interview, I was asked how I became close with Cho Hyunyoung, so I mentioned that we had fun hanging out together with that guy. I still keep in touch with him—he’s a great person, and I truly rooted for them.”
Cho then opened up about how the relationship affected her career. “At the time, I felt like my popularity was rising. But when the dating news broke, my career momentum came to a halt. That’s why it’s not a good memory for me. Still, we ended things on good terms,” she said.
She also shared her firm views on dating. “I don’t think I’m unpopular, but I have a lot of standards. I’m a T (thinking) type, so I like clarity. I don’t mesh well with F (feeling) types. I’m surprisingly conservative—a real Confucian girl. I don’t even hold hands during the early stages of dating.” She added firmly, “I’ll never go public with a relationship again. Even if I’m dating, I’ll say I’m not. Even if he’s the one I’m going to marry, I’ll only announce it at the wedding.”
Cho Hyunyoung and Alex went public with their relationship in 2015 but ended things two years later in 2017.
