Rapper BE'O’s current agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, has achieved a complete legal victory in a settlement dispute against his former agency, FameUs Entertainment.
On June 26, the Seoul Central District Civil Court ruled to dismiss all claims filed by FameUs Entertainment in its lawsuit against Big Planet Made regarding settlement payments.
As a result of the ruling, all of the legal fees will be borne by the plaintiff, FameUs Entertainment.
The dispute began when Big Planet Made raised a set-off claim based on the assertion that BE'O had not been paid past settlement money from his former agency.
The court fully accepted this set-off claim, legally recognizing that FameUs had failed to pay the BE'O settlement money, which totaled at least several hundred million KRW (hundreds of thousands of USD).
Big Planet Made Ent. takes proactive action to protect artists' rights
A representative from Big Planet Made commented on the ruling, stating, “This is the result of a rightful response to protect the rights and interests of our artist.”
They also added, “We will continue to spare no effort in taking legal action on behalf of our artists,” and noted that “specific details of the ruling will be confirmed at a later time.”
Meanwhile, rapper BE'O gained public attention after finishing as the runner-up on Mnet's 'Show Me The Money 10' in 2021. He later signed an exclusive contract with Big Planet Made and has remained active in the music scene since.
