Barbie Hsu’s ex-husband, Wang So Bi, has spoken out for the first time following her passing.

Recently, Wang So Bi addressed concerns about their children through a live broadcast, marking his first public statement since Barbie Hsu’s death. He stated, “The condition of the two children has improved significantly. They are currently living with my wife and seem to be relatively harmonious.”

He continued, “As a father, I am worried about my children’s physical and mental well-being, so I decided to stay with them. This is a difficult time, but I will grit my teeth and overcome it. I hope the children can return to a normal life as soon as possible. Though they have lost their biological mother, their stepmother is taking good care of them. I just hope that the disputes between adults do not ruin the innocent world of the children.”

According to Sohu Entertainment and other Chinese media reports on the 4th, “Wang So Bi has already reached an agreement on the distribution of the inheritance and has plans to resolve previous debt issues, which allowed Barbie Hsu’s mother to forgo any claims.” Previously, Wang So Bi was reported to have accumulated a debt of 250 million yuan (approximately 49 billion Won, 34 million US Dollars), including mortgage loans and the cost of purchasing a luxury apartment in Taiwan, where Barbie Hsu resided during her lifetime.

Barbie Hsu married Wang So Bi in 2011 and had a son and a daughter, but they divorced in 2021. She later reunited with Koo Jun Yup, her ex-boyfriend from 20 years prior, and married him in 2022. However, Barbie Hsu tragically passed away from acute pneumonia while traveling in Japan on February 2nd. Devastated by the loss, Koo Jun Yup reportedly lost 6 kg in a month and has been spending his days in tears. Reports also claimed that he stopped eating and drinking, raising concerns about his health.

Meanwhile, controversy surrounding Barbie Hsu’s inheritance continues. According to Taiwanese law, her estate was to be equally divided among Koo Jun Yup and her two children, with each receiving one-third of the inheritance. However, shortly after, Barbie Hsu’s mother posted, “He is a liar, and I was an idiot,” leading to speculation that she was criticizing Koo Jun Yup.

This backlash stemmed from Koo Jun Yup’s previous statement, in which he claimed that after Barbie Hsu’s death, he would transfer his rights to the inheritance to his mother-in-law and pursue legal action to protect the children’s assets and rights. As controversy grew, Barbie Hsu’s mother urged, “Please refrain from speculation,” but then deleted all photos of Koo Jun Yup from her social media account, further fueling speculation.
