The 34th Seoul Music Awards officially kicked off fan voting today (March 24).

The Seoul Music Awards Organizing Committee announced that mobile voting for this year’s ceremony has begun. The event will be held at Inspire Arena on June 21st, and strong participation from fandoms is expected, as voting results will play a key role in determining the winners.
Voting is available through the official voting app K-POP SEOUL, as well as affiliated apps My One Pick and Fandom Chart. Voting began alongside the announcement of nominees for major categories, including the Main Prize, Rookie of the Year, Popularity Award, and Hallyu Special Award.
Notably, the Popularity Award (domestic voting), Hallyu Special Award (overseas voting), and K-POP SEOUL CHOICE (Group/Solo) are determined 100% by fan votes, drawing high interest from global K-pop fans.
Voting will take place in two rounds. The first round runs from 12:00 PM on March 24 to 11:59 PM on April 12, and the second round will be held from 12:00 PM on April 21 to 11:59 PM on May 10. Final results will be revealed during the ceremony.
Nominees were selected based on albums and songs released between January 2024 and March 2025, according to data from the Circle Chart. Artists who made a significant impact in K-pop during this period will compete for top honors.
Meanwhile, the Rising Star category, which opened voting on February 24, is also heating up. Out of the 60 teams initially nominated, 30 advanced to the second round. Following the conclusion of the second round at midnight on the 24th, 10 teams made it to the finals.
The final 10 Rising Star contenders are: VVUP, POW, 82MAJOR, YOUNITE, TNX, ONE PACT, Fantasy Boys, and TEMPEST. The final round of voting for this category will take place from May 19 to June 1.
The Rising Star category was created by the Seoul Music Awards Organizing Committee to offer stage opportunities to idol groups from small and medium-sized entertainment agencies. Eligible groups must be in their third year since debut (between January 2022 and December 2024).
First held in 1990, the Seoul Music Awards is one of South Korea’s representative music award ceremonies and has played a significant role in elevating the global status of K-pop.
