YouTuber Illzuata (comedian Kim Joo Yeon), who had faced backlash for defending MBC weathercaster Kim Ga Young amid the workplace bullying allegations involving the late Oh Yoanna (1996–2024), has issued an apology.

On February 3, Illzuata posted a message on her YouTube channel's board, saying, "I wrote a comment recently without fully understanding the facts. I apologize for my careless words and actions, which caused harm to many people."

She continued, "I deeply regret that I hurt the feelings of the deceased and their family. I sincerely reflect on my actions and apologize for my mistakes. I have no excuses, and I am truly sorry for my shortcomings."

Illzuata also expressed concern that her post might have caused further pain to the family of Oh Yoanna. She said in sincere apology, "I sincerely apologize to the family for any harm I may have caused," expressing regret.

She added, "I apologize to everyone hurt by my thoughtless words and actions, and I will approach things more cautiously moving forward. Once again, I am truly sorry."

Previously, Illzuata had defended Kim Ga Young when she was accused of being involved in workplace harassment against Oh Yoanna. Illzuata wrote on Kim Ga Young’s Instagram, "Ga Young Unnie was deeply hurt at the time, feeling like she couldn’t protect Oh Yoanna. I met Oh Yoanna once during a training session, and she told me how much she liked and relied on Ga Young unnie."

However, many netizens criticized Illzuata, urging her to apologize to the bereaved family, with comments like "Are you killing the victim twice?" and "Don't disrespect the deceased."

Kim Ga Young was named as one of the four individuals accused of workplace harassment against Oh Yoanna.

MBC TV's 'News Desk,' the radio show 'Good Morning FM Tei,' and SBS TV's 'Kick A Goal' all programs featuring Kim Ga Young, have stated that they are waiting for the results of MBC's internal investigation.
