On February 22, Big Bang member and solo artist Taeyang successfully capped off his solo ‘The Light Year’ tour in the Philippines at the Mall of Asia Arena, ending it with a bang.

Decked in slick black pants and dazzling white attire, Taeyang opened the show with his mesmerizing performances of “Prayer” and “I’ll Be There.” He then performed songs including “VIBE (feat. Jimin of BTS),” “STAY WITH ME,” “Make Love (feat. Kush),” and “Inspiration (feat. Beenzino).”

The other songs on the setlist included “Wedding Dress,” “Blue,” “I Need A Girl,” “Superstar,” and “Body.”

The venue erupted in loud cheers when the iconic intro of Big Bang’s hit song “BANG BANG BANG” played. Followed by it was one of the highly-anticipated songs the fans had been wanting to hear live, “Fantastic Baby.” The crowd sang and danced along to the songs, turning the concert into a party, as Taeyang performed “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” next.

Stepping onto the stage, Taeyang's presence and bearing, even for a fleeting glance, exuded power and charisma. From that alone, it's evident how he commands the stage from the moment he ascends it. He performs as if the stage is his own playground. Every move and note was flawless, and you immediately recognize how Taeyang is an all-around performer.

“I realized how quickly time flew. Since August 2024, I performed in 12 cities and I’m finally here. This emotion is very hard to explain. I can’t believe the tour is already done,” Taeyang expressed.

He added, “You know, when I got on the plane, I was kind of sad and emotional because the enjoyment from every city had just to pass through my head. Thank you so much for allowing me to have such a graceful emotion. I can see your faces and all your emotions from here. You guys remind me what stage really means to me. Your love and support are the reasons why I continue doing music. Tonight will be forever in my heart. Thank you, Manila, for an amazing night. I hope it was special for you, too.”

Manila marked Taeyang’s last stop of his ‘The Light Year’ solo tour in Asia. The tour spanned a total of 12 shows in Seoul, Osaka, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Bangkok, and Macau.
