The individual idol brand reputation rankings for January 2025 were released.
BLACKPINK's Rosé took 1st place, aespa's Karina came in 2nd, and ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo secured 3rd place. The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute analyzed big data of 163,322,138 pieces of data regarding 1,730 idols' individual brands from December 29 of last year to January 29, revealing the results on January 28.
According to the research institute, the brand reputation index was calculated by aggregating participation, media, communication, and community indices. The data showed a 15.89% decrease compared to the previous month's 194,169,629 pieces of data.
The brand reputation index is a measure based on the correlation between consumers' online activities and brand consumption. It measures positive and negative evaluations of individual idol brands, media and consumer interest, and communication volume. Additionally, brand risk assessments and reputation editor monitoring are included.
Rosé, who ranked 1st, recorded a brand reputation index of 8,692,225, with a participation index of 643,754, a media index of 720,638, a communication index of 2,638,084, and a community index of 4,687,749. This was a 53.84% decrease compared to the previous month.
Karina of aespa took 2nd place with a brand reputation index of 6,352,554, showing a 5.91% increase from the previous month. Her participation index was 861,100, media index 883,015, communication index 1,583,401, and community index 3,027,738.
Cha Eun Woo from ASTRO ranked 3rd with a brand reputation index of 6,268,597, reflecting a 25.16% increase from the previous month. His participation index was 828,400, media index 905,680, communication index 1,895,64, and community index 2,643,952.
IVE's Jang Won Young came in 4th with a brand reputation index of 5,171,231, an 11.97% decrease compared to the previous month. Her participation index was 903,40, media index 839,466, communication index 1,279,231, and community index 2,152,194.
G-Dragon placed 5th with a brand reputation index of 4,705,310, showing a 23.06% decrease from the previous month. His participation index was 775,644, media index 972,778, communication index 1,033,056, and community index 1,923,832.
Koo Chang Hwan, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, explained, "BLACKPINK's Rosé took 1st place in the January 2025 idol individual brand reputation rankings. Analyzing the idol brand big data, the data amount decreased by 15.89% compared to the 194,169,629 big data points in December. Specifically, brand consumption decreased by 13.60%, brand issues by 10.17%, brand communication by 15.23%, and brand diffusion by 18.06%."
He added, "In the January 2025 idol individual brand reputation rankings, Rosé, who took 1st place, had high frequencies of the words 'release, reverse trend, and appear' in the link analysis. In the keyword analysis, 'apartment, Rosé, and vinyl album' were the main keywords. The positive-to-negative ratio was analyzed to be 92.97% positive."
