On January 2, singer-songwriter Jang Jae In surprised fans by sharing a teaser for her upcoming album on Instagram Stories. Alongside the brief caption, "Album coming in January or February," she posted a video clip offering a sneak peek into her creative process.
The video showed Jang engrossed in her work, seated with her laptop as she fine-tuned her new album. Most notably, she played a snippet of an atmospheric and dreamlike track, boldly unveiling part of her work-in-progress, which captivated her followers.
Previously, Jang made a rare television appearance on JTBC's 'Begin Again Open Mic', where she remarked, "It feels like it’s been 3–4 years since I’ve been on TV," expressing gratitude for the opportunity but humorously adding, "I’ll be going back to my cave for a while." Fans had braced themselves for another long hiatus from public appearances, but this sudden announcement of a new album has sparked excitement among her loyal supporters.
Jang Jae In first gained prominence in 2010 as a contestant on 'Superstar K2'. Her career faced a setback in 2013 due to a diagnosis of dystonia, which led her to take a two-year hiatus. She returned in 2015 with the mini-album 'Liquid' and has continued to release music, including her most recent album, 'Parang', in August 2023.
Currently, she is focusing on her music independently, without the backing of a label. Jang's teaser has left fans eager for what’s to come in the months ahead.
