On the January 3rd broadcast of MBC FM4U's 'Perfect Day with Lee Sang Soon' (also known as 'Perfect Day'), Lee Sang Soon engaged with listeners by reading their song requests and heartfelt messages, creating a warm atmosphere of connection.
The show began with Lee Sang Soon sharing a local gem in Seoul, "There are many great walking paths in Nowon-gu, and one of them is called 'Taereung Baekse-gil.' It's named this way because it reflects the wish to live to 100 years old," he said during the opening, inviting listeners to explore the area.
Later in the broadcast, a regular listener shared, "I always listen to 'Perfect Day' while working in my studio, but it's great to hear it while driving today. I'm excited about the songs you'll play," to which Lee Sang Soon responded, "I hope you're looking forward to it. Great song selections are waiting for you."
Another listener sent in a story about a bakery that opened next to their office. "The smell of fresh bread fills the office, hallway, and even the bathroom. It's overwhelming! It's why I can't stick to my diet," they wrote. Lee Sang Soon empathized, saying, "I especially love the smell of bread in the morning. Let me tell you about an episode related to bread." He then shared a nostalgic memory, "When I was younger, I wasn’t really a bread person, but I loved tearing off a piece of freshly baked milk bread in the morning."
He continued, "When I used to go to the practice studio in Mangwon-dong, I couldn’t resist passing by the bakery nearby. I’d eat the bread in the morning, then sleep, and my face would get all puffy," reminiscing fondly about those days.
In response to another listener's story about burning their pot while trying to make a latte, Lee Sang Soon shared, "I’ve burned a lot of pots too. When you're boiling milk, you really have to keep an eye on it," showing empathy and sparking laughter from the listeners.
The show also featured a listener, and a parent attending their child’s performance. "My daughter practices for her performance two or three times a week, often staying up all night," they said, expressing both pride and concern. Lee Sang Soon responded, "I can only imagine how nervous she must feel. It's one thing to perform in front of strangers, but when you know people in the audience, it can be even more nerve-wracking. But I’m sure she’ll do great." He offered a heartfelt show of support for the young performer.
Through these stories and reflections, Lee Sang Soon created an intimate, relatable space, touching the hearts of his listeners while sharing personal anecdotes and offering encouragement.
