On the 20th, singer and JYP Entertainment's representative producer J.Y.Park (Park Jin Young) shared the sad news of his father's passing on social media. He wrote, "Just before the final live broadcast of "The Ddandara "today, my father passed away and went to heaven." J.Y. Park’s father had been battling dementia for a year.
He continued, "I was recording just 10 minutes away from the hospital when he passed. Thanks to that, I was able to visit him before the recording and see him again immediately after he passed."
Reflecting on the loss, J.Y. Park shared, "For the past year, he lived almost unconscious, so the family had been mentally preparing for this moment. But when I saw my father after he passed, it felt like my heart dropped to the floor."
He also penned a heartfelt letter to his late father, saying: "Until the very end, I never called you 'father'; I always called you 'Dad,' my 'Best Friend.' Now, you're probably reading this letter in heaven." His words revealed deep affection and gratitude.
He added, "The person I’ve become today is truly all thanks to you, Dad. Thank you. You were the best father to me. Let’s meet again someday and have a long conversation."
The funeral will be held privately with only family members in attendance. J.Y. Park requested, "I’m sorry, but I’d be grateful if you could join us in spirit."
