Singer and actress Seohyun, despite sustaining a leg injury during filming, took on the role of host at the '2024 KBS Drama Awards' with the aid of a cane.
According to OSEN on January 1, Seohyun attended the awards ceremony held at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, on December 31, along with co-hosts Jang Sung Kyu and Moon Sang Min. Due to the recent Jeju Air disaster, the live broadcast was replaced with a pre-recorded session. The winners and the recorded segments will be unveiled at a later date.
Seohyun stunned the audience with her elegance in a white long dress and showcased her impeccable hosting skills. However, during transitions, fans noticed her limping and using a white cane for support, sparking concern. Clips from the event revealed her walking with a noticeable limp, evoking sympathy from viewers. Despite her condition, Seohyun completed her hosting duties and warmly waved to her fans.
Her agency confirmed to OSEN, "Seohyun did indeed sustain an injury during a drama shoot. She is currently undergoing treatment and recovering. She plans to resume filming soon."
Seohyun is currently filming the new KBS2 drama 'The First Night With the Duke' alongside 2PM's Taecyeon. It was during this production that the injury occurred. While focusing on her recovery, she is expected to return to the set shortly.
The upcoming drama is a fantasy romance revolving around Cha Seon Cheok (played by Seohyun), a supporting character in a fictional novel who becomes entangled with Kyung Sung Goon (Ok Taecyeon), the obsessive male lead. The story takes an unexpected turn when the soul of a modern-day college student inhabits Cha Seon Cheok’s body, leading to a series of unpredictable events.
Seohyun's character, Cha Seon Cheok, is a wealthy and privileged woman living a charmed life, but her world is turned upside down when she unexpectedly spends a night with the male lead, throwing the novel’s storyline into chaos. The highly anticipated drama is set to air later this year.
Fans and colleagues alike are applauding Seohyun's professionalism and dedication, wishing her a swift recovery and eagerly anticipating her return to both the drama set and the small screen.
