‘Radio Star’ producer addresses controversy over actress Goo Hye Sun’s hat.
Kim Myung Yeop, the producer of MBC’s ‘Radio Star’, addressed the recent controversy surrounding actress Goo Hye Sun’s decision to wear a hat during her appearance on the show. The comments were made during a press conference celebrating the 900th episode of ‘Radio Star’, held on January 22nd at MBC’s headquarters in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
Attending the event were producer Kim Myung Yeop and show hosts Kim Gook Jin, Kim Gu Ra, Yoo Se Yoon, and Jang Do Yeon.
Kim Myung Yeop clarified, “There were concerns about her attitude regarding the hat, but there was no issue at all. One of a producer’s responsibilities is to ensure that the guests look good on screen.”
He elaborated, “If someone wears a hat, I might ask, ‘Are you okay with this? Would it be better to take it off?’ Similarly, when Park Joon Hyung wears sunglasses, I might suggest alternatives if there’s glare. If there had been an actual problem, it would have been edited out.”
The producer added, “Goo Hye Sun arrived early, participated in the script reading, and showed a great attitude during the recording. It’s unfortunate that there’s any controversy about this.”
The discussion arose after viewers raised questions about Goo Hye Sun’s hat during her appearance on the show, speculating it could reflect negatively on her professionalism. Kim Myung Yeop’s remarks aimed to dispel such notions, emphasizing that her behavior throughout the recording was exemplary.
