On January 3, Lee Young Ji took to Instagram to share proof of her donation, revealing that she contributed 10 million KRW (~6,804 USD) each to the Korean Red Cross Jeju Air Relief Fund and the non-profit organization Warm One Day.
Expressing her condolences, she wrote, "I cannot fully comprehend the depth of the tragedy, but I hope to offer some comfort, however small, through this donation."
Lee Young Ji is currently the host of KBS-2TV’s variety show 'The Seasons: Lee Young Ji’s Rainbow.' The show did not air this week due to the national mourning period. Instead, Lee Young Ji expressed her support through her charitable contribution.
The Jeju Air tragedy occurred on December 29 when flight 7C 2216, en route from Bangkok to Muan International Airport, collided with the airport's outer wall during a landing attempt, causing an explosion. The incident claimed 179 lives, excluding two crew members.
